California Dan Lynn is a seasoned songwriter and versatile performer whose musical journey began with bluegrass and grew to include reggae, punk, rock & roll, and blues, among others. Honing his skills at various bluegrass jams in the hills and hollers of Berkeley and San Francisco, his first band, The Crooked Jades, emerged from a kitchen jam in Oakland, with Dan contributing bass and vocals on their early albums. He later co-founded The Blue Water Ramblers in Michigan, with whom his songwriting began to emerge.
     
     Moving to Marquette, Michigan, in 2025, Dan continues to develop his Michigan Mojo Music, a blend of bluegrass, punk, reggae, rock & roll, and blues influences. He is currently performing solo shows and continuing to appear with the Blue Water Ramblers, playing acoustic and electric guitars as well as a few leads on the standup bass. He is seeking the personnel to assemble California Dan & the Savory Characters, a dream that began to take shape on festival stages in 2025.
